THREE

MOOD SWINGS
Belfast, Northern Ireland - June 1999
Ratung: 8.5
"From the first time listening to the opening track, "Hard To Believe", my reaction was very positive. There are 17 tracks on this making just over 1 hour of music. It is amazing how quickly an hour can go in when your enjoying yourself. There is plenty of variety on offer to keep you interested. A mixture of semi-acoustic AOR and lightweight pop pock populates the CD... Innuendo's brand of semi-acoustic pop rock certainly found favour with me. This is one of the best independent releases I've reviewed at Mood Swings. Maybe the AOR/MR record labels should be releasing something like this instead of rehashed demos for minor stars from yesteryear".

HEART OF THE ROCK
New Zealand - May 1999
"Their music is a hybrid of styles, quite varied actually... You get good value for your money here, 17 songs clocking in at 62 minutes plus... All in all, Innuendo have great crossover appeal, and my only hope is that they get picked up by a major label where they can zero in on their obvious talent. For those wanting to pick up on a band with influences ranging from 1980's radio friendly AOR through to 1990's modern pop, you can't go past Innuendo. All power to ya guys!"

METAL & HARD ROCK AREA
Germany - May 1999
review by Birgitt Schwanke
Rating: 9/10
"For a self-financed album this is a real killer! There are 17!!! classic AOR tunes on this album... Highlights are difficult to mention here because the song writing is simply amazing... Overall, this is one of the best self-financed CD's sent in to me. Huge production due to Brett Richey and the rest of the band, outstanding performances by all of the musicians and 17 great songs. Great value for the money and by far better than most of the releases from domestic record labels".

STRUTTER 'ZINE
The Netherlands - April 1999
review by Gabor Kleinbloesem
"A good melodic rock/AOR release is what you get when you buy this third CD of Innuendo. Fortunately the music style of the band is still the same as their previous albums, only the quality and sound has improved which makes them one of the better sounding independent AOR/Melodic rock bands."

EAST COAST ROMPER
Maine - April 1999
review by Stephanie Stevens
"I've enjoyed this band very much because I always know that their recordings will not be the same "what is hot now music". The band has stayed true to their hearts... They have solid melodies and great song writing... The fans are getting their money's worth... keep up the great work."

AOR CENTRAL
Los Angeles - May 1999
"Those of you in the United States that were complaining about the absence of melodic acts now have something to look forward to as this four person group from Arizona has just released their third full length CD, appropriately titled "Three". While it is difficult to categorize this band, Innuendo play melodic pop, with influences of AOR and rock within them, to create an interesting and heartfelt musical experience... In a time where melody and creativity are shunned in popular music, Innuendo go against the trends and play from the heart, creating melodic "radio friendly" tunes that deserve recognition".

THE NORTHERN LIGHT
Sweden - December 1999
"I find it incredible that no melodic rock label has picked up this band already. They are certainly among the best of today's melodic rock acts. Go figure!... The CD has 17 tracks, and is packed with great melodic rock".

SFK'S DETRITUS
Chicago - May 1999
"The best way to describe their sound is: ballsy enough to rock, but tasteful. They certainly don't lack some tasty, sometimes crunchy guitar work, and thumping beats, but they also don't go over the top. The band rocks when it needs to, but isn't afraid to be subdued and make use of an acoustic guitar in spots too... The brains behind the band is guitarist/keyboardist and songwriter Brett Richey. Brett is undeniably a very talented player, and an excellent song writer, especially lyrically... Lead singer Andy Watts has a soaring voice that fits the style of music perfectly... Overall a very solid disc by a band with some great potential... with 17 tracks and over an hour of music, you definitely get your money's worth!"

MUSIC BOX
Sweden - May 1999
review by Carl Lagerholm
"Another great CD in the now so popular acoustic/melodic rock/pop genre... Great songs and harmony vocals. Good musicians as well. Nice production and high class of tracks right through."

METAL SHOCK
Italy - June 1999
review by Omar Zampetti
"Melody is the main component of their songs. In fact all of them are very carefully constructed and their production is of a very high level. The band's sound is fresh and intriguing, all the compositions are diverse and interesting, alternating hard rock songs to dreamy ballads... A CD which we strongly suggest buying!"

SLAMM
Italy - July 1999
Le mie songs preferite sono "Second Guess Myself To Death" l'allegra "Twist My Arm", la melodica "Million Miles Apart" e l'acustica "Song On The Radio". Devo segnalare l'ottimo lavoro del chitarrista/tastierista Brett Richey, che ha praticiamente realizzato tutte le parti musicali e le lyrics dell'album".

SPIN CITY
Belgium - July 1999
"I have to start off by saying that I have been sent the most impressive press kit I have ever had the pleasure to set my eyes on. It was like Christmas in July. This is the way it should be done. The boys mean business. Innuendo is a pop/rock quartet consisting of "Andy Watts" vocals/guitar, "Brett Richey" guitar/keyboards/vocals, "Aubbrey Ridgeway" bass/vocals and "Rodney Krenz" drums/vocals. These boys are seasoned veterans in the Phoenix, Arizona area, which helps due to the fact that Arizona is known as one of the emerging "Metal" Mecca's and Innuendo is doing something totally opposite. "Three" is very pop/rock melodic 17 song CD, yes you heard right, 17 tracks, in the vain of Journey. We even have keyboards throughout the CD. The vocalist is excellent with clear, crisp vocals, not to mention the harmonies. The whole CD reeks of talent. Track 4, "Twist My Arm" and track 16, "Say What You Mean" are the only tracks on the CD with some punch. Both are good foot tappers. If you enjoy music in ther form of Journey you will surely enjoy Innuendo".

ON THE ROCKS
Germany - October 1999
"This band from Phoenix, Arizona plays timeless rock music... The songs are mainly based on acoustic instrumentation, but Innuendo definitely rock! The band has a good feeling for catchy harmonies, so some songs sound real poppy (in the positive meaning of the word!) Singer Andy Watts has a clear but powerful voice... All in all Innuendo have recorded more than a solid rock album".

MUSIC CONNECTION
Los Angeles - August 1999
"Phoenix-based Innuendo offer a slickly produced, seventeen-song CD that's characterized by melodic material, four-part harmonies and sing along choruses. Call it "Kansas meets Hootie", Innuendo certainly have studied their influences".

AORSTER'S
Brazil - September 1999
"Innuendo is following up 2 critically acclaimed albums: "Let Me Out" and "Ain't Like It Used To Be". III is the band's 3rd offering which was self produced and very well recorded at Innuendo's private recording studio! This disc showcases lots of acoustic melodic ballads, strong rock and roll tunes and some ingredients of blues and folk a la Hootie And The Blowfish and Collective Soul. Plus very good songwriting and admirable melodies created by skilled musicians... This album has 17 tracks and over an hour of good music. Great value for the money! I think Innuendo really deserves a record deal right now."

MUSIC SCENE
Germany - August 1999
Ausgreifter als die beiden Voranger-CD's "Let me out" und "Ain't like it used to be" werden radiotaugliche Rockmelodien mit uberwiegend akustischen Gitarren verwoben, ohne als Balladenband zu verkummern.

RECORDING MAGAZINE
Colorado - November 1999
"On first listen it's obvious that the members of Innuendo have done this before (it's their 3rd CD). The tracks sound professional. Great acoustic guitar sounds, punchy bass, well blended vocals with just enough reverb... A good band... It's good to hear that their going stronger than ever".

CATCHY HOOKS
Sweden - August 1999
"Wow, I'm shocked. This is unbelieveabley good... The package that we got from guitarist/songwriter Brett Richey is, as the whole album, great!.. I could mention almost all the songs. But the only right thing for you readers to do is to buy this subperb CD. You won't be disapointed".

HEAVY HARMONIES
Illinois - August 1999
"Congrats to the band on a solid self-produced effort. There is some very good musicianship going on here. It's a solid AOR presentation, and the production quality is pretty good".

AORLAND
Spain - October 1999
Innuendo is an American band from Arizona that mixes melodic rock melodies like Mr. Big with the sounds of the modern US rock/pop like Matchbox 20... The band sounds really tight and the production is goodso I think we should keep an eye on these guys".
